Which pilates studio management platform offers the strongest value for money?

Updated August 2026  ·  7 min read

The Short Answer

StudioGrowth, on the $250 Bloom plan.

Not because it is the cheapest. WellnessLiving is cheaper. StudioGrowth wins because it is the only platform here where you can work out your total cost before you sign anything.

The plan price is published. The payment processing is standard Stripe at 2.9% plus 30c with no platform fee on top. Nothing in the bundle a pilates studio needs is held back as an add-on. A studio doing $10,000 a month pays about $540, and you can calculate that today without speaking to anyone.

On every other platform in this comparison, you cannot.

Why this is a different question from best overall value

Value for money is not about which platform is best. It is about what you get back for what you hand over. That makes it a question about arithmetic, and arithmetic needs numbers.

So we judged these four things, and the advertised price is only one of them.

  • 01 The tier you will actually be on Entry plans are built to look cheap. We price the tier that covers what a working studio needs.
  • 02 What leaves on every payment Processing rates differ by more than a point. On real revenue that outweighs the subscription gap.
  • 03 Whether you can find the number at all A price you cannot determine before signing is not a price. It is a negotiation.
  • 04 What happens in year two A good first-year rate means nothing if you are locked in when it rises.

Judged this way the cheapest sticker rarely wins, and neither does the most expensive platform. The winner is whichever one lets you run your studio properly for a total you can predict.

The bundle a pilates studio actually needs

Before you can compare prices you have to agree what you are buying. A pilates studio is not a gym. You run scheduled group reformer classes and one-to-one appointments in the same week, in a market where clients expect to book from their phone.

That makes five things non-negotiable.

What you needWhy it is not optional
Group classes and appointmentsReformer classes and privates run side by side. A platform that treats either as an afterthought costs you hours every week.
A branded appPilates is a competitive, premium market. Clients booking through someone else’s brand is a retention risk.
Late cancel and no-show feesAn empty reformer is unrecoverable revenue. Without enforceable fees you absorb that cost every time.
SMS notificationsEmail reminders alone do not hold a booking. SMS is what actually reduces no-shows.
Retention automationWinning a client back costs less than finding a new one. Triggered follow-ups are where that happens.

Now price that same list on each platform, and see how far you get.

What the bundle costs, and what you cannot find out

PlatformTier that covers the bundleMonthlyProcessing
StudioGrowthBloom$250, published2.9% + 30c, no platform fee
WellnessLivingProfessional$159 plus $199 a yearParagon or Nuvei, rate not published
MomenceCustom plus marketing suite$299, not published3.9% + 30c
MindbodyAccelerate plus app add-on$279 + $249 to $2993.60% + 30c

Figures published or reported as of August 2026. Only StudioGrowth publishes both halves of the equation.

WellnessLiving is the cheapest on subscription. Professional is the tier that carries the branded Achieve app, and SMS needs Advanced or above, so Professional is the honest floor. Add the $199 annual maintenance fee and you are at roughly $176 a month, which undercuts everything else here.

Then you try to work out your total, and you stop. WellnessLiving routes every card payment through Paragon or Nuvei. There is no Stripe option, the rate is not published, and operators report they cannot negotiate it or switch processor. So the largest variable cost in the equation is one you cannot see before you sign.

Momence is a different problem. Its public tiers are Basic at $0, Pro at $60 and Custom at $199, and none of them covers the bundle above. Add the marketing suite and the retention features a pilates studio needs and the real figure is $299 a month. Momence does not publish that number anywhere. We know it because we bought the platform and used it.

At $299 with processing at 3.9%, Momence costs more than StudioGrowth on both halves of the equation. Higher subscription, higher rate. There is no studio size at which it comes out cheaper, which is unusual: most platforms win somewhere on the curve.

Put both halves together for a studio taking $10,000 a month in card payments and the picture is clear.

At $10,000 a monthSubscriptionProcessingTotal
StudioGrowth Bloom$250$290$540
WellnessLiving Professional$176Not publishedCannot be calculated
Momence plus marketing$299$390$689
Mindbody plus app$528$360$888

Subscription plus percentage processing on card revenue. The 30c per transaction is excluded because every platform charges it.

What that means in practice: StudioGrowth costs $540 and you can work that out before you speak to anyone. Momence costs $689, which is $1,788 more a year for the same bundle. WellnessLiving is the cheapest subscription on the table and the only one whose total you cannot complete, because nobody will quote the processing rate in advance. One of those is a price. The other two are opening positions.

Why Bloom rather than the entry plan

We quote $250 rather than StudioGrowth’s $159 Seed plan on purpose, because we price the tier you will actually be on.

Seed is a real plan, not a stripped one. It covers group classes, appointments, the branded app, CRM, waitlists and waivers. But two things a reformer studio needs sit on Bloom: late cancel and no-show fees, and SMS notifications. If you run fixed-capacity classes, those are not luxuries.

Bloom also drops the 12-month commitment that Seed carries. You move to a plan you can leave any month and gain the two features that protect your revenue. For most studios that is the honest starting point, so that is the number we compare.

On price rises: StudioGrowth states it has never increased the price for an existing customer, and the studio owners we have spoken to confirm their rate has held while features were added. We found no reports to the contrary. That matters here, because a low first-year rate on a platform that raises prices at renewal is not value for money.

Where this answer has limits

Strong

  • Whole bundle at one published price
  • Standard Stripe rate, no platform fee
  • Total cost calculable before signing
  • Free data migration and 1:1 onboarding on every plan
  • Cancel anytime on Bloom and Harvest
  • No demo call required to see pricing

Weak

  • WellnessLiving is genuinely cheaper on subscription
  • Full marketing sequences need the $350 Harvest plan
  • Your own App Store listing is $150 a month extra
  • No consumer marketplace to bring you new clients
  • Seed carries a 12-month commitment
  • Smaller company than Mindbody or WellnessLiving

If your budget is the binding constraint and you are willing to accept a processing rate you cannot check in advance, WellnessLiving will cost you less on subscription. We would rather say that plainly than pretend one platform wins on every measure.

The three strongest platforms on value for money

Ranked on what the full bundle costs and how confidently you can predict it. Ratings are our own, from our hands-on reviews.

#1 Strongest Value for Money

StudioGrowth

★★★★½ 4.6 out of 5 Our pilates rating

Studios that want a number they can budget against

$250 / month

Bloom plan. Seed $159, Harvest $350. All published.

  • Bundle at this priceAll five included
  • Processing2.9% + 30c, no platform fee
  • Total at $10k/month$540, calculable
  • Data migrationFree, every plan
  • Contract on this tierCancel anytime
  • Demo required to see priceNo

Why it wins: the only platform where both halves of the cost are published, so you can budget accurately before you commit. Not the cheapest subscription here, but the only total you can actually calculate.

#2 Lowest Cost for the Full Bundle

WellnessLiving

★★★★☆ 3.5 out of 5 Our pilates rating

Studios where the monthly figure is the binding constraint

$176 / month, roughly

Professional at $159, plus the $199 annual maintenance fee.

  • Bundle at this priceYes, on Professional
  • ProcessingParagon or Nuvei, unpublished
  • Switch processorNot permitted
  • Loyalty and rewardsBuilt in, rare anywhere
  • ContractAnnual, auto-renewing
  • Client app rating3.0 Apple, ~2.1 Google Play

Why it is second, not first: the cheapest genuine route to the full bundle, and the loyalty module is unusual at any price. But the processor is locked to Paragon or Nuvei with no published rate, the contract auto-renews annually with increases reported, and the Achieve client app your members would actually use rates around 2 out of 5 on Google Play.

#3 Lowest Entry Tier

Momence

★★★★☆ 3.5 out of 5 Our pilates rating

Very small studios testing whether software pays for itself

$299 / month

With the marketing suite. Not published. Pro tier starts at $60 without it.

  • Bundle at this priceYes, with marketing suite
  • Processing3.9% + 30c, highest here
  • Total at $10k/month$689
  • Price publishedNo, quote only
  • App brandingMomence-branded
  • Entry tierPro $60, 2.5% platform fee

Why it is third: the entry tiers are genuinely the lowest in the category, so it earns a place if you are starting out and can live without the full bundle. Buy the bundle and it costs $299 with 3.9% processing, which is more than StudioGrowth on both counts and more than WellnessLiving on subscription. The app also carries Momence branding, not yours.

Why Mindbody is not on this list

Mindbody places second when we rank platforms on overall value, because its consumer marketplace brings you clients no other platform can. On value for money it does not place at all.

To reach the bundle you need Accelerate at around $279 plus the branded app as a separate subscription at $249 to $299. That is roughly $528 before a single payment clears, with processing at 3.60% online and a 20% cut of a new client’s first marketplace purchase. At $10,000 a month you are paying about $888, and contracts commonly run 12 to 24 months.

The marketplace can justify that. It is a real acquisition channel worth real money. But that is an argument about return, not about what you get for what you pay, and it belongs on a different question.

And the others

Walla and Mariana Tek both price well above this group for a comparable feature set, and neither publishes a rate you can check without a sales call. Vagaro is the cheapest platform in the category at $23.99, but its group class handling is not built for a reformer studio running fixed-capacity sessions, so the saving is not a saving.

The Bottom Line

StudioGrowth’s Bloom plan at $250 is the strongest value for money because it is the only option here where you can calculate your total before you commit. Published tier, standard Stripe rate, no platform fee, nothing in the bundle held back. At $10,000 a month that is about $540, and you can check that figure yourself right now.

WellnessLiving will cost you less on subscription at roughly $176 for the Professional tier. Take it if the monthly figure is what matters most, and read the processing terms and the renewal clause before you sign. Momence has the lowest entry tier in the category, but once you add the marketing suite it reaches $299 with the highest processing rate here, which puts it above both.
